Exciting Updates from Ozark Yacht Club!
Ozark Yacht Club loves serving the Lake of the Ozarks community with our outstanding lodging, marine services, dining, club events, sailing school, and so much more. Today we filling you in on all the updates we have going on in the coming months. We think you're really going to love them!
OYC is pleased to announce our Food and Beverage Manager, Shelley Bell.
Shelley brings with her an extensive background in the Food & Beverage Industry. Shelley owned and operated a café in the southern part of the state before moving here to the lake to be closer to family. Shelley worked as a prep cook at the Blue Heron and most recently was the Food & Beverage Manager at Lake Valley Country Club.
Shelley will be participating in streamlining our new kitchen in the Café as well as in our clubhouse during construction. In addition, Shelley will be working closely with event sales for all of our Banquets & Events services.
Shelley states, “I am honored to have the position and I am looking forward to meeting our members and guests and providing the level of service that is indicative to OYC.”
In recent years we wrestled with some glaring deficiencies of the 20-year old building. Along the way, we debated, drafted, and redrafted (over and over) ideas to create a bustling, casually elegant restaurant and event venue which our members and guests would embrace as their home away from home. The resulting design, now in two-phased construction, seems to resolve every one of the problems we had identified.

LakeSide Café
The LakeSide Café is on track for the May 1st opening! When the Café and clubhouse reopen in May, guests will be delightfully surprised.

Phase One
Phase ONE includes a larger, and brighter, highly efficient kitchen, equipped so that we may prepare delicious and attractive meals promptly. A state-of-the-art warming oven will ensure food is being served at the proper temperatures. The inside dining room will feature tables and booths for cozy privacy. A service elevator enables staff to serve guests in the new upper dining room, balcony, and pool area. Just the other day, we received the first shipment of beautiful goblets - enormous vessels for the OYC signature Margaritas and Daiquiris.
At the ground level, we will continue to offer our award-winning a-la-carte menu. Guests at the upper level will be served from a lavishly stocked breakfast, lunch, and events buffet and bar.
The project will also expand the capacity and improve the serviceability of events in the Anchor Room, where we plan to add bookings of interest to our members, including such popular entertainment as The Ozark Jazz Club and the monthly Swing Dance Club. By the way, the stage has been raised, enlarged and appointed with stage-lighting for a superior entertainment experience.
And, of course, the ill-conceived guest bathrooms have been jettisoned in favor of new attractive multi-stall facilities.

Phase Two
In phase TWO, commencing fall 2020, the clubhouse will be expanded to the north by an elegant two-story lobby, added member dressing rooms, and a dining deck at the upper level, projecting over the water’s edge for a panoramic vista of the lake.
In the summer months, we plan to extend operating hours, offering lunch and light après boating cuisine until 7:00 p.m. Most importantly, the enlargement and refinements of the venue will help us attract a professional hospitality team to provide excellent services in a casually elegant atmosphere.
We benefited greatly during this process from generous expert advice by Ted Geiger (Baxter’s), Tim Vogel (Coconuts), and Joe Boer (Blue Heron). Thanks again for your valued input.
